I am an IDIOT: Episode 14

I am a flipping IDIOT!!!!  I am soooo sorry.  I uploaded a vlog last week.  Yes, LAST week and proceeded to totally flake on posting a blog with show notes.  Please, please forgive me.  I feel so bad.  This is actually the first time I have sat in front of my laptop in over a week.  I used the tablet to record and upload a vlog, but then totally flaked on writing a blog for it.  Geez!  Summer really messes me up.

No new Vlog, yet

Wow!  What a week.  It is only Wednesday and it feels like it has been a month, not 3 days….

On Monday afternoon, I was to stressed to even knit.  I was however able to write out a sock pattern I have been working on.  I have it written out to just after the heel.  I have had to stop knitting on my test sock, so that I could get a pair of birthday socks done for one of my room-mates, Ande.  I am using Schachenmayr Regia Fluormania Color in Bright Flowers.  I kid you not, these socks are neon!!!!

Once I get these socks done, I can then go back to my sock pattern writing and get it done.  I may advertize on Ravelry for a sock tester before publishing the sock pattern.  All proceeds from the pattern sales will be donated to M.S. research.  I have not looked into how to donate yet, but I will make sure I have that taken care of before publishing the pattern.  I want to also include a link to where I will be donating the funds with the pattern so that maybe those that buy the pattern can choose to donate more if they want.   So far, THIS is all I’ve found, but I want to make sure that, that is the best option for us.

I also would like to get back to my Six at a Time socks.  I miss the challenge.  Though, with the stress I have undergone this week, maybe it is a good idea for me to hold off on them for a while.

I also would like to get back to knitting hexiflats for my Beekeeper’s Quilt.  I think I am going to start focussing on it more than anything else once I get Ande’s socks and the pattern done.  Did I mention that the pattern I am writing is called Sonny’s Road?  No, yes?

Well, I think this is all I have to say this week.  I think I will be able to record another episode next week, but I may wait until the first week of May.

I am so sorry guys!  I was just told that my last two vlogs were blurry.  I intend to fix that with the next vlog.  I am hoping it was a camera issue and not an issue with the rendering process.

On another note:

I have gotten two pairs of socks finished since the last vlog.  Yay!  The Take 5 socks are done and the Vixen socks are done.  Both are Lollipop yarns with the afterthought heel.  I love them both.

What am I working on now?

I am working on the 6 at a time socks and I am trying hard to finish a pair of socks for one of my room-mates by Monday.  Her birthday is Monday.  Ugh!  I totally forgot.  I am also working on a design of my own that will be called Sonny’s Road.  All proceeds will be donated to M.S. research once it is available to purchase.

Other than that, not a lot to say until I record a new vlog.

Knit well, and knit knotty.  😉

iTunes and podcasting

For a while now I’ve been thinking that if I’m going to get a more regular knitting vlog going, I should get it on iTunes.  The problem with that… I post my videos on youtube.com.  My favorite podcaster uses blip.  I went to blip and they are not taking any new producers at all.  Plus, I’ve heard from other vloggers that they weren’t taking any more knitting vloggers anyway.  I see another podcaster I really adore uses hipcast.com.  Well, I found that hipcast charges a fee.  If I had greater sales I’d be willing to spend money for my vlog, but not right now.

Currently I am looking at podcast garden.  I created an account, but now I am waiting for my last vlog to be re-rendered.  I normally render my videos to a ‘.mov’ format.  Podcast garden requires a ‘mp4’ format.  I am okay with this, especially if it means that I will be on iTunes!!!!
